On May 8, 2004 my little girl Meredith became the wife of a great guy, Eric. The happy couple made me a very happy Mom by letting me help with the plans for their big day. Distance was a factor--couple lives in Maryland, I live in Connecticut, wedding was in Rhode Island. Time was also a bit of a factor--ten months from engagement until the big day. Information was an issue--first family wedding in many years. Things have definitely changed since I got married over 30 years ago. So we spent lots of time (money, too) and through trial and error we put together a lovely (actually - spectacular) wedding. The day was wonderful--the couple is happy. And I found something I love to do. The idea of spending time working on products for happy people who are starting out their lives together is how I want to spend my time. So--"Knot the Ordinary" was born. The name was the brainchild of my son Michael. Thanks Mike!
Knot the Ordinary does so many of the things the bride would do --if she had time--her Mom would do --if she was nearby--and friends would do --if they weren't so busy. Plus, where do you find the time to get everything done? This is where "Knot the Ordinary" comes in. We produce comfy wedding reception sneakers and flip flops (pretty enough to wear for the whole day). They can be done for the entire wedding party. We also design custom wedding favor packaging, hotel welcome bags, and reception restroom baskets. All those "details" that will make you wedding day --anything but ORDINARY!
